Weed library - Wire Weed (Polygonum aviculare)


Wireweed also known as hogweed is an autumn and winter germinating annual/biennial plant.

It produces a deep tap root and long sprawling stems with small blue-green leaves on them. The stems are wiry with many branches and can grow to around 1 meter in length.

Mature wireweed plants are hard to control.
